お知らせです！

やどカフェにて、

むぎわらぼうしのフランスパンサンドイッチをランチ販売します。

テイクアウト、イートイン、両方大丈夫です。

たくさん頼んでいただけるご近所様には、午前中に配達もします！

サンドイッチは１本（３０ｃｍくらい）４００円、ハーフサイズは２５０円です。

フランスの小麦粉を配合したパンと、無添加の手作りハムのサンドイッチは絶品！ぜひ食べてみてください！

Tomato nabe party!

To help us get through this cold winter we will have a very special nabe party for our guests, on the 20th of December in our YadoCafe and we welcome all our guests and friends to join us.

Our friend, Tomo, who is a professional chef, will be preparing Tomato nabe for us!!

Japanese Nabe, or hot pot, is a traditional dish mainly served during winter, consisting of a mixture of different vegetables and meats lightly cooked in the broth of a hot pot. Nabe is normally eaten at the table from a communal hotpot with everyone gathering around the table.

There are many kinds of nabe dishes. This time around we will have tomato nabe. Tomato nabe is a new type of fusion dish consisting of a mixture of Japanese and Italian flavors which has become very popular this year.

Come and join us and enjoy eating lots of delicious food in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

The party will be starting at 6:00PM (Food will be served at 7pm) and finish at 10:00pm.

Price: 1200 yen (all you can eat)

Okutama art craft festival and hiking Event!

We are going to the Okutama area on the 21st of September!

The Okutama art festival is now open. So we will go and visit some artist`s exhibitions and also have a nice walk in the forest! And also we are going to Onsen at the end of tour!

Oume Taisai Festival 02

Some more photos for Oume Matsuri!

Our friend took us 3places, and this is first place.

We met mayor of Oume city and took photo together!

Matsuri, we always see "Kingo-sukui"!

And "Shateki".

This is second place we visited, Traditional Kimono shop.

And this is last place, this house is very old like more than 150years. Everyone enjoyed this traditional house with lots of Sake which they gave us.

Every local people was really kind, they offer many foods and Sake. This is the traditional Japanese Matsuri style for local people. We were really lucky to have friend there!

Oume Taisai Festival

We went to Oume taisai Festival on the 3rd of May.

That festival has long history.

We have local friend there, so we could have special experience!

Manu young people were joying in Matsuri(Festival)

And also young students enjoyed holiday with Matsuri.

We call this "Dashi".

This is parade float. People are playing Japanese Taiko and dance with traditional happi coat and mask.

We were lucky to have free drink and beer on the street. Everyone was very welcome.

And one gentleman in our group was drinking a whole bottle of Sake...

Let`s go to Festival with YADOYA friends!

On Sunday May 3rd, we will be organising an excursion to one of the biggest festivals in the Kanto area, The Ome Taisai Festival. We welcome our guests to come and join us in the festivities.

The Ome city Taisai Festival features a parade of twelve traditional Japanese floats drawn along the city's main street. It is a cultural and historical event with its roots in old Edo It is a great time with many people taking part in the festival. It is the perfect day to experience authentic Japanese culture.

We will be meeting at YadoCafe(YADOYA guesthouse office) at 1pm and take a train to get to Ome by 3pm where we will go around the town and enjoy the spirit of the festival. At 4pm we will meet a friend of ours, a local of Ome city, and he will show us around the finer points of the town and festival. He will later take us to his friend’s house where we will enjoy a few drinks and food together with the locals.

There will be a guide fee of 1500 yen for the excursion which includes a free Tanudon (YADOYA mascot) T-shirt (many designs and sizes to choose from).

In Japanese festivals people taking part in the event wear a traditional uniform called a Happi which shows which part of the town they are from. In the spirit of this festival, we want our guest to all wear our Tanudon T-shirts as a kind of the Yadoya Happi.

We can only take a maximum of 5 people so please inform us if you would like to go as soon as possible.

We had chirashi-sushi Party at YADO Cafe.

*What is Chirashi-Sushi?

Not so many people know that there are many kind s of sushi in Japan.

"Chirashi-sushi" is the second most popular sushi which we usually cook at home, and it is not only beautiful but also a fabulous taste.

It is a bowl of sushi rice with other ingredients mixed in. Chirashi-sushi most often varies regionally because it is eaten annually as a part of the Doll Festival, celebrated during March in Japan. And it is also eaten to celebrate the spring season. Chirashi-sushi is sometimes interesting because the ingredients are often the chef`s choice.

Our friend professional chef "Tomo" was cooking for us. And it was very good!

We also enjoyed to wear Traditional wedding Kimono!!

Oh,, drink Sake from a bottle??!!

Chirashi-sushi brought us the spring feeling!

Hanami Party 2009!

We had Hanami Party on the 28th of March at Araiyakushi Park.

SAKURA(Cherry bloosom) were not fully bloomed yet, but there were lots of people and nice atmosphere.

Nice in out side and drinking and eating!

We brought foods and drinks.

The park was prepared for the Nakano Sakura festival.

Why do we have a lot of cotton candy????

It getting dark, but it will be more crowded by people who loves night sakura, we call "Yozakura"!

And then, we just join with local Hanami people and enjoyed!

They were so friendly and give us warm foods and Sake.

It was good time!!

Chirashi-suzhi Party on the 5th of April!

Let`s feel spring of Japan with Chirashi-zushi which is one kind of the traditional homemade Suzhi! We normaly make Chirashi-zushi for celebration or party.

* Chirashizushi (ちらし寿司, lit. scattered sushi). A bowl of sushi rice with other ingredients mixed in (also refers to barazushi). It is commonly eaten in Japan because it is filling, fast and easy to make. With the Sakura flowers blooming just around the corner, the time has come again to celebrate that age old Japanese tradition of cherry blossom viewing (Hanami).

It is a great time where friends, old and new, get together in parks under Sakura trees, relax while appreciating the beauty of the Sakura blossoms and enjoy the beginning of spring by drinking, singing, talking, playing games and having a great time.

We welcome all our guests and friends to come and join our Hanami party and have a wonderful day with us.

Please bring your own drinks and some food to share with the group.

Hanami (cherry blossom season) will be soon!

It is cold today, but Hanami(Cherry blossom season) will be soon in Tokyo!

We are planning to have Hanami Party this year too. But we have no decided the date yet. We will see when the cherry blossom will be bloomed!

We will notice about the Hanami party soon after we decide the date on this blog. So please come and see sometime!

We watched soccer game for world cup Aus x Jan on the 11th of Feb.

The game was finished 0-0, and little bit not exiting. But it is fun to have gathering like this and watching soccer game together with people who come from different country!
